Unit replenishment
Hey guys. How do you speed up unit replenishment?

I'm playing as Gongzun Zan and Zhao Yun's army is taking 11 turns to fully replenish. That's heaps of turns to wait?

No no Items is not an excuse. Im waiting for the modding community to do something about a few of the issues in this game because replenishment drags the early to mid game so bad that its not even funny.

Items, certain generals, perks, I think supplies has a big impact on everything too.

Use Vanguards' assignment that gives 15% bonus to replenishment. It is most useful early game.

Items, buildings, stances, edicts/tech or being in a town, some perks help. Theres also certain lords you can start with that have special buffs to replenishments I think maybe im wrong currently playing as Cao Cao. Also you dont always have to wait for it to fully heal if your enemy does not have fully replenished stacks you can still win battles and use the post replenish function post battle instead of money or supplies. It can be slow but I really love this mechanic from Thrones of Britannia it adds a slower pace to conquest and wars, and forces you to care for your army and losses in battles.

Late game you can redeploy / replenish in 1-2 turns if you plan properly.

And like you said, there are ways around it. Its not a broken feature.

Local population plays a big factor. If you can garrison in a higher population city it replenishes quicker.

one character from the yellow turban rebellion has amazing replenish, helped me a lot in the campaign, otherwise i had the same problem
It is kind'a broken, but it's a feature, not a bug lol

It means people who focus on mustering troops are going to be better at sustaining long-term heavy hostilities. It also gives defenders a chance to recuperate after heavy assaults.

The MAIN thing I want to see modders focus on is the ability to not just trade/merge retinues, but to transfer troops between retinues...!

its not broken, its intended, unless you want to steamroll the game in 10 turns.

plus some characters have early game advantage of fast replenishment, the yellow turbans have that privilege too.

Generals , items , city population, take less casualties, have more food , have more supplies , use the research tree. About 4 turn avg for replenishment to atleast 85% .

I think one of the biggest influences on your reinforcement speed is the population of the province you are in. So in the early game - and even in the mid game if you're taking undeveloped territory - you won't be replenishing losses that quickly. Also I'm not sure but it seems like going into the encampment stance doesn't increase your rate, you have to be in a settlement to get the increased rate.

10% replenishment reform. go for it first. with high food and population gives more. Its not hard.

I think a lot of people don't notice population when they are playing. It is kind of a glossed over statistic. A territory with high population and high food reserves will have high replenishment with its armies.

Typically what I see happen on play-throughs is that a person gets in a war with an enemy faction, and wins a key battle or two. Now that enemy faction is on the back foot and the player strikes deep into their territory, taking a couple key territories. After a few turns, they have a weakened army and they stop in a recently conquered settlement to replenish, and get impatient. But a couple of things hold them back.

1) Often when starting the war, they traded their food down to only +1 or +2 to help raise their armies. Now that they took some major cities/industries, they are running negative.

2) Often the territories they took have zero reserves (Like if you laid siege on a settlement), and their negative food balance doesn't allow any reserves to build. So now that population is in decline.

3) Usually the conquered territory has poor faction support, meaning public order problems which decreases population.

So if your unit's replenishment is a factor of reserves and population, then having low food reduces reserves, impacting replenishment and IN ADDITION, lowers population, which also reduces replenishment- a double whammy.

This means that you should be super focused on keeping your food balance positive. Rather than trading down your food balance to +2 for money prior to a war, you should have it as high as possible before your battle and you should be getting it balanced as much as possible.

Because population and food are more passive impacts on your faction, people tend to get trained that it is ok to run a food deficit for a couple turns. I've been watching this mentality in PartyElite's Kong Rong play through. He was sitting with -10 to -20 food. And when he finally checked his settlements after 6 or 7 turns, some of his settlements were empty. But because you can keep clicking "Next Turn" while the settlement sits empty, you never really notice that you have bled yourself dry.
