Report a translation problem
There have been several reports that the game is not starting and is crashing at the launch. this problem is occurring because of the game’s launcher settings. below you will find methods on how to fix the issue and launch the game
The First Way could be because of your antivirus or the windows defender. the antivirus might be detecting the launcher file as a virus. to fix this issue you can either disable your anti-virus and launch the game or make an exception for that file and then launch the game.
The Second Way is testing the game compatibility. so just go to the following path
Steam library> right-click total war three kingdoms> Go to properties> Go to local files> Browse local files> Right click Three_kingdoms.exe.
Then go to the compatibility tab and tick the “Run this program as an administrator”. now press Apply and start the game.
The third method you can use to fix the issue is
First press windows key + R
Then type “%appdata%” and press enter
Now go to The Creative Assembly folder
Then delete the “Launcher” folder
Finally, reload the Launcher to generate new files for the game to start

Update Graphics drivers
Restart Computer
Make sure you meet minimum requirements
Close other programs before launching
Could you please ensure that both executables, launcher.exe and Three_Kingdoms.exe both have run with administrator switched on or switched off
To do this,
- Right click on Total War: THREE KINGDOMS on the steam library and select the local files tab,
click on LOCAL FILES located within the tab.
- In the new folder you should be able to see Three_Kingdoms.exe file.
- Right click on the Three_Kingdoms.exe file and select properties and then the compatibility tab.
- Make sure to check or uncheck the ‘Run this program as an administrator’ depending on your
preference.
- In the same folder where the Three_Kingdoms.exe file is contained, there is a folder called
launcher, double click on this folder.
- In this folder find the launcher.exe and follow the same steps that you followed for the
Three_Kingdoms.exe file. It is important that both files have ‘Run this program as an
administrator’ set to the same conditions, either checked or unchecked.
