Yuan Shao Vassalize

Feel like my game as Zheng Jiang is currently unwinnable and not sure if I should continue lol. im on turn 73 and things were going pretty well. During a war with Yuan Shao, he's managed to vassialize 10 different factions and theres just endless stacks of armies from every direction. Had to give up a lot to make peace but im basically surrounded by all his vassals.

I think i could have handled it but Yuan Shao somehow vassalized Han Sui whos' all the way across teh map from him. Doesn't seem very fair. I had pushed west with Zheng Jiang and had to return to defend that area after he vassalized to defend it. Whcih left me with only 1.5 armies on my eastern front.
They weren't kidding when they stated Zheng Jiang as Very Hard

Same thing for me, playing as Liu Bei, he vassalizes Gongzun Zan and Kong Rong, I trusted these 2 since they're friend of Liu Bei in the Romance, man was I wrong they ganged up on me along with Gongsun Do. And Sun Jian didn't do ♥♥♥♥ to save me when I'm his vassel...

Ya i don't know how hes able to vasalize everyone. Zheng Jiang tribute seems broken too, never works.

hahaha yeah same happened to me he vassalized every one around me then declare war on me and this ♥♥♥♥♥ kong rong every time i try to take a port or farm he take it before me but i fu*ked him and defeat him iand i make alliance with cao cao and he fu*ked cao cao xD it's too hard to defeat him with only 2 armies

Playing as Cao Cao I've just gotten neighbours to declare war on Yuan Shai using the proxy war ability Cao Cao gets. Seems to work, he doesn't do well fighting Yuan Shu, Liu Bei and some other dudes simultaneously.

Yuan Shao AI seems unbeatable. Turn 40 and he already has 3 vassals in my other game he had 10+, he seems broken, how is he able to vassalize everyone?

Mine doesnt seem to work, they just stay pull a Stalingrad.

Yeah didnt work. I dont think I found it in the diplomacy option either.

I've only started a campaign as Yuan Shao, and it seems the opposite, noone accepts vassalage even if you've beaten them down to a minor settlement (at which point it would be worthless anyway).

I did make an alliance with Kong Rong, thinking he would protect my southern border and not do much given everything I've read suggested he'd play passive/tall. I was wrong, he marched halfway across the map to seize the emperor, vassalised the Han, and has now dragged me into wars with almost everyone. Super aggressive.

I noticed him try and gobble up the little guys around me (as Cao Cao) so I splurged and made Liu Bei and Kong Rong my vassals. He has been quiet since then.

lmfao true, I was so piss I didn't have the money to put Peng Tong in my army, I restarted the game twice, the 2nd time I restart right at turn 10 I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Kong Rong up and now I'm waited for Zhuge Liang to march North to get Zhao Yun. Yuan Shao has like 0 vassel in my game now, everybody wants no agression pacth with me.

Other thing is everybody having Dong Zhou dead in early game, he's still alive and kicking in all my 3 Liu Bei campaigns lol.
