Fire arrows and how to use them

I am playing as Kong Rong and have "Fire arrows" ability. I have both archers and crossbowmen in my retinue but I don't see an option how I can turn the fire arrows on.
Or are they all automatically fire arrows now? But then I don't see any fire... puzzled.

You need it as a skill of e.g. your strategist.

Just like I said, I am playing as Kong Rong (he is a strategist), in his retinue there are different kinds of archers and I have the Fire Arrow ability. Still, no fire arrows.

Do you have fire shot or fire arrows? Also the archers need to be in the retinue of the strategist.

You have to unlock fire arrows abilities with the generals Yellow or purple, or blue.

In battle when you have your archers selected their is an option to toggle the fire arrows on or off.

crossbowmen cannot use fire arrows so you need to only select archers to see the toggle for fire arrows

if you select multiple units and one of them doesnt have the toggle for fire arrows (or if they dont have the same abilities) you wont see the abilities that is not available to all selected units

Only archers can use them, when you select both archers and crossbows at the same time, the option for fire arrows isn't displayed since crossbows don't have it.
