Liu Bei story seems near impossible to follow?

Anyone else having the issue that Liu Biao has absolutely 0 interest under any circumstances to confederate? I've given him insane amounts of money, items, pacts and absolutely nothing.

I had the same problem. Played for a while, got a mission to confederate but no event popped up. Also, it's strange seeing Sun Jian still alive and Zhao Yun never joined me.

I'll restart my game.

I've tried multiple playthroughs. Liu Biao will never budge.

Historically Liu Biao only gave Liu Bei the northern most commandarie to defend against Cao Cao, he wanted to give the entire Jing Province to Liu Bei but he declined, then Liu Biao died and his son surrendered to Cao Cao straight away causing Liu Bei to flee to Wu and led up to the battle of Red Cliffs

Okay? That doesn't help following the story quests.

I never see the scripted event, but the way the novel goes, it means that Liu Bei can only annex Liu Biao's faction when Liu Biao DIES.

lowest i got him was -12 but then he joined a yuan shao as a vassal and which kick started world war 3, yuan shao with 8 vassals vs me, sun jian and kong rong. Nothing i did , through gifts or trade deals would make him confederate and the stronger i got the less he liked me.

Well, in two playthroughs he joined an alliance with Cao Cao for me. I'm probably gonna not touch Liu Bei until they fix this. Seems to be a serious issue. Considering you can't progress his quests without doing this but it seems to be outright impossible.

The moment he gets weak he signs alliances with other factions. If you get stronger he refuses, if you bribe him he refuses. Nothing works and he never seems to die either.

Also there is a lot of bugs with officers for example with cao cao, you dont have famous generals as dian wei or xu huang or zhang he when you defeat Yuan Shao.

Dian Wei will join you a little bit later on, same for guo jia (they will just appear in the recruitement pool).
More funny is that Xun you never appear in this game.....and that as the most important advisor of cao cao......
I also didn't find Xu huang so no plan.

For Liu Bei I played close to 150 turns and the zhao yun event never happend.....same for the liu biao story line....0 chance to confoderate him outside of simplly destroy his faction.
The Zhuge Liang event was also a total pain to do....would be better this characters just appear in your army at the exact time they joined your side historicaly........

I'm on my 2nd playthough right now and i cant seem to get to Liu Biao before he joins a confederation with whoever lol. Very dissapointed

He' still kicking around in my playthrough but he's allied with Yuan Shu who is one of the other 3 kingdoms so I've got no chance of confederating.
