How do you get Sun Ren?

Turn 87, she turns 18, but there's no option to marry her into my faction. In fact, apart from the exploity move to grab Lu Bu right at the beginning of the campaign, marriage in general seems non-existent (I can't even remember the last time I didn't see it greyed out).

Is there a trick to it? Or is the AI simply designed to marry off everyone the instant it can?

did you get Sun Ce or anyone from Sun faction already? there is only one marriage able to be done between two factions. and does the person that you want to marry Sun Ren get adopted 'cause they may be distant relative and cant get married.

Nope, the only marriage I've done is grabbing Lu Bu, and I'm playing Ma Teng.

Vassalize Sun Ce faction. That's how I've done it with both Liu Bei and Ma Teng.

I assume that an advantage the AI gets is their marriages cost 0 gold. They marry everyone on turn 1 and everyone the day they hit 18.

I've managed to get her to marry Cao Pi on the exact turn she comes of age. Although it does appear that if left for more than a few turns she will likely get married off internally to one of their own officers.

One thing to remember is that with the most recent update, you can now look at the family trees of other factions as well so it should be possible to look at the Sun family tree and check on her current status.

I always get Sun Ren through marriage (3 times in my 3 playthroughs) without any problem. I always calculate her birth year/season correctly. Once she turns 18 I open up the diplomacy menu and receive Sun Ren from the Sun faction.

With the new family feature introduced in 1.1.1 it is now even easier to track your marriage target. Just make sure that your own dude stays single until the time comes.

You can't. However, in the new update 1.1.1 (you can apply for beta) you will be able too.

oh yeah... I though something looked a bit odd.

With it enabled you basically at a list of all the other factions similar to the diplomacy tab to the right hand side of the family tree screen. There you can directly look at the family trees of all other factions.
