How to hit with poisoned blade?
So I've had several battles as Zheng Jiang and was surprised that her skill "Poisoned Blade" is not an auto hit every time. In fact, I have never had a hit with her poison blade ability. Even when she is standing close to an enemy she either throws it over their heads or they make the slightest movement on their horse causing it to miss. Am I missing something obvious? Is it ONLY supposed to be used in duels or something? I feel like a dumb-dumb but forums keep calling the skill OP and broken and yet it has proven completely useless so far. Help?

I mostly tried to bait the general out and hit them as they approached, or bog them down with infantry and try to hit them that way.

You have to click it and then click the enemy General. I never tried it during a duel (if you can)

It is a range ability you cast on enemies, it can miss if they are moving. I don;t belive u can even use it in a duel but it can 100-15% most generals

Imagine this... red sisters, fatigue immunity.... tenancy of steel on her a green general.... poisoned blade.... sapping enemy’s hp away, dila or sun jians horse (his horse gives you 25percent armor) add to that huang zhong‘ bow.... (it can outright kill a general since it just chunks hp away) a ancessory of your choice.... and finally to add to the cherry on top she can recruit units that have the stalk trait.... how is this op you ask? Well my good sir they will not be detected by towers... they are like ninjas in shogun 2... they only get detected by civilians running into them causing them to fight (hilarious watching civs acting like nothing wrong with enemy troops 5ft away)

So to recap she attacs she protecs and she snaps necks

Finally managed a hit, apparently it seems advantageous to just chuck the knife on a general while they're tied up in melee. They barely move around if bogged down by infantry. They went down HARD. And no you can't use it in duels. So now I'll keep trying to use it while the enemy is in a fight cause Zheng Jiang just throws it over the troops I guess? Seems as if the skill has sort of a splash effect on it's hit box?

Can you hit a General while they are in a duel with another

You could but that means you are intercepting with that duel, causing your morale to take a huge perm hit

Ok that’s what I was wondering. Now what if you use an ability that buffs your general dueling. Is that considered interrupting?

No. You can have a strategist nearby, for instance, to disable active abilities from the other general; or to knock down their evasion and armour - or you can have a sentinel nearby to buff your general's evasion.

Only actively attempting to damage the enemy general in a duel counts as interrupting.
