Why did Huang Gai die so early?
He usually die of natural causes before 207... Huang Gai and Huang Zhong are the oldest generals around... Huang Gai was still around when Sun Quan took the throne to be emperor of Wu and thats around 223..

Unless the devs can actually go to the trouble of programming a minimum/specific "old age death" for each character who was recorded as dying of such in a certain year - which would be very tiring - then it's just percentage based the same as any other character.

Sorry, i realised what i said is misleading... what i meant was that Huang Gai is supposed to be still around at 223 in the books but in TW3K, he keeps dying before 207 which doesn't feel right

Its probably just that due to his age, the chance of death modifier can kick off relatively early. In my game where I have reached the 220s he is still alive and kicking. The only death I've head is Cheng Pu, although I am starting to think the both Huang Gai and Sun Jian might be about to die fairly soon.

Well I mean if the older Dynasty Warriors Empires games can do it then I'm sure you can get 5 or so people to go through all the characters... :P
