How do I trigger the Sima Yi quest?
Supposedly there's an event that grants you Sima Yi in the Cao Cao campaign, but I've yet to encounter anything resembling it and I don't know what it's called or how to trigger it.
And, supposedly, in some campaigns it just plain doesn't trigger? Maybe?

I'm in Autumn of 217 from what I can tell I should've encountered it around, like, 20-30 turns ago or something.
He and Cao Cao are my favorite people from the era so I'm kinda bummed he still hasn't shown up, does anyone have any suggestions for getting the quest to trigger?

Not sure if there's an event, but he's a lord that pops up available for recruitment. Just have to keep an eye out for him.

He appears shortly after Zhuge Liang, there's no quest. Also make sure you have an available council spot as he starts with a -108 satisfaction modifier due to wanting a higher court position. I actually have yet to see AI controlled Cao Cao hold on to him for more than a turn because of this.

Guess that explains why he's often available in the recruitment pool

In my campaign, AI Cao Cao has been holding him (as an army general) for many turns, i think more than 10 turns now since I first spotted him, now he is still leading an army for Cao Cao.

one of the things i would like to do in my realism/historical accuracy mod is make events more rigid. such as sima yi will always generate for cao cao and things of that nature. no rng for these important historical landmarks.

I play as Kong Rong. In both playthroughs I received notification that a famous hero appears in the lands. Few turns later I could recruit Sima Yi.
