Why do I always lose duels despite having much better stats?
Keep losing against nobodys

Luck is a factor. Maybe their generals have better active skills. Maybe their general was being supported by another general's passive skill (they are still affected by outside interference that way).

Is it the beginning of the fight, or later on when your general has been worn down some? What category of general vs. what category of general?

I have lost in every scenario. Even though my general is worn down, should he be winning easily as he has over 20 melee attack vs some guy that has only 6 attack ?

melee evasion

there's a lot of stuff that can factor in, armor, weapons, skills, what type of general you are dueling

when you duel it should give you an idea if the enemy is overwhelming, similar, or neglible strength, i usually only accept duels if its similar or neglible, since you have a far greater chance of losing with its overwhelming

Also during duels your general also takes a ton of damage so be careful dueling with less health then the other person.

This happened to me on a general I had that had not lost a duel in 8 duels. They were both sentinels. Mine was level 4 and his was 3. I had something like 29k health and he had 17k (was taken down by combating my troops). In the duel I figured he would not last long. Boy was I surprised when I lost over 10k and he only lost 1k health. I noticed he had a buff he was hitting every so often and I am sure that is why I was not damaging him. So, the answer may be just that, the other general is buffing and you (and I) don't have that ability (yet).

The Sentinel’s +50% melee evasion when their base melee evasion is so high is why I find them pretty annoying. Throw on there potential bonus damage over time skill and they can kill.

Although what’s REALLy interesting is that there’s a legendary character who instead of the damage buff, has a buff to melee evasion, making him hypothetically the best dueller at higher levels.

if ur hero says 'winded, tired or very tired' he's gonna have a slower melee attack, lower melee defence.

I nearly lost cao cao to a nobody

It's always negligible

This probably explains why

My purple hero with 70% melee evasion and 60k hp lost to some random low level red hero without any decent stats and much lower damage. His power rating was neglible.
Duels are unreliable as ♥♥♥♥.
