Negative Income after Annexing a vassal
Hi,

I was playing Cao Cao and I made Yuan Shao my vassal, then I was receiving ~2k income per turn. However, once I annex Yuan Shao, my income dropped down to -4k. What is going wrong here? All I did was taking over the control, if the economy was so bad for Yuan Shao, AI should have bankrupted ages ago.

What can I do to improve? Similar situation happened again when I annex Yuan Shu earlier in the game, but I survived by cutting some army. I wonder if there is something more I need to be aware of here?

Vassal gives you their income. And did you have trade agreement with vassal?

Corruption perhaps.

vassal give you money
when you annex,all their army and officer/hero join you
the AI can maintain a huge army/officer because they have cheats,player don't
and don't forget the corruption,i don't think the cheating AI even have a corruption debuff
