Why did reviews tank so bad?

Game was mostly positive. Then a week ago, nosedive, why? Even if dlc patch was bad that shouldn't affect base game.

Basically CA had to partner with a Chinese company to officially release in China (because of Chinese Law.) They did a couple of Blogs about it:

They have basically been given the rights to officially publish the game in China, while previously it was released unofficially in to the country though steam.

And a large portion of the Chinese player base appear to be very unhappy with this choice as Netease is pretty much looked at as the Chinese equivalent of EA.

There are dozens of similar threads already. Maybe you should read those threads or some reviews by yourself first before asking, some Chinese players are not happy with CA makes partnership with Netease網易, so they spammed negative reviews, just like what people said.

HOWEVER, most negative reviews about the Eight Princes DLC has NOTHING to do with netease partnership, that's mainly just because that DLC is crap and it sucks ASS! That's all. If you actually read some reviews, you would know(although some reviews are in Chinese). So please stop keep telling others it's also because of this sh*t, because it's not. This is misleading, it's not the same reason. 8 princes DLC just sucks ASS! Utterly recycling garbage!

Well Chinese know the law. so its stupid on their point. Don't like the law protest to change it. I see japanese, USA and Korean companies do this to sell in China all the time.

But hey, no one ever said the Chinese were smart or logicail.

I am well aware of their IQ and its ranking and the laws. But in general China fakes everything and invents little so IQ doesn't really mean much. IQ didn't save them from many hardhsips or wars.

And hey China pays me 26,000 RMB a month :)

Well just how its common law that a China company has to back an international company, all tech in China is public goods. It belongs to the public no corpuation or state. As for China, they just reverse engeneir or steel tech that others kindly invent.

Dude you should learn some Chinese history. The Chinese have a long, incredible history of invention, and redesigning the inventions of others to create new and better things. Seems to me you are so pro-Capitalist you think the Chinese, using a dramatically less Capitalist system, are inferior. And with the way things have been going in China the past 30 years, give them another 20 and I guarantee they will be beating Americans and Europeans in all sorts of things, barring some major unforeseen circumstance. After a couple hundred years of China getting screwed over by the rest of the world, and struggling to pull themselves back up, China is once again on the rise. In a big way.

the bombing of the reviews is only because of the Deal Between the devs of Total war and a chinese variant of EA called Netease. The Chinese player base are making the reviews bomb hard cuz they are crying about Netease being toxic and ♥♥♥♥♥♥. censorship or something but the pathetic part about the Chinese player base is that they are as smart as a box of rocks and live in a country with nothing but censorship.

aka anything that Netease does, doesnt affect anyone whose not in china. take it with a grain of sand. let the chinese player base cry... all they ever do anyway.
