Just won Hard mode Sima Liang. World first?

Wasn't easy, but I've already beaten Eight Princes as supposedly the hardest character, lol!

No mods were used, all got disabled for a vanilla EP experience.

That is honestly kind of pathetic (not you, how short the campaign was).

Quite possibly! Well done.

That's a recoloured Liu Biao victory screen, ahahaha

Any tips?

For Sima Liang, you REALLY don't want to go a single territory beyond your current jurisdiction, you suffer big time, making friends with Sima Ai and the surrounding generic leaders is easy enough and highly reccomended, after which I'd focus on taking out Sima Wei as highest priority (Can even recruit him if you capture and release often enough)

After which you should be pretty close to Louyang, take that and take the Regent option, if you go Emperor too soon you'll make enemies from all sides, and I was enjoying having Sima Ai guarding my back (guy took the entire bottom half of the map..)

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go to war with the Jin Empire, they seem heavily bugged right now, they WILL spam endless tides of generals at you, from all directions as well, they'll be sending stacks at you faster than you can replenish, how the hell they could afford to spam generals at such high frequency, maintain full armies in each stack, is beyond me. Make friends with them, though Sima Ai doesn't like them so you'll have to balance out relations between the two.

After which I just moved on to take out Sima Yong, Sima Yue and Sima Ying , Sima Jiong was pushed back into the far northern corner so he was out of reach, Sima Lun got taken out by someone else though oddly enough I got to recruit him from my pool.

I was about halfway done eating up what was left of Sima Yue's kingdom when...yeah. I won, just like that.

A lot of battles I delegated, because I got tired of the Jin Empire's endless swarming, it got so bad I had to have 15 stacks all encamped around my own lands, some of them bunched up together so they can reinforce, to keep them from taking my stuff. If you manually fight every battle, then it'd probably take you longer to get a victory than for me.

I haven't start the new campaign with this DLC yet and you already won :(. Darn it. So the Jin Empire is like the Han Empire in the vanilla main campaign but way stronger :).

Wait, it only took a few hrs?

How disappointing is that?

I had fun for the most part..though I got so tired of the Jin Empire spamming seemingly endless amounts of generals and stacks I had to have -50 treachery by abandoning all my vassals that wanted me to go to war with them again or else they go independant.

And you can only do so many battles before you'd much rather just delegate..especially when 99% of generals are generic models, the new armor sets don't help that much to distinguish them...

Once you max out your jurisdiction you can just ditch all your vassals all and you won't lose any, found that out the hard way...

They make the lord easy but the Empire harder to conquered since they have to make up for some other thing that lacking. Many generic officer, yes, but because they put those Sima officer all high stats so I just delegate the battle, too :) .

Yeah, Sima Liang is super fun, on VH/VH I had +55 highly respected from defending vassals, by turn 49 I had all of China vassalised and 4 military allies, the snowball is real. Campaign won(not ultimate, at turn 60). Fastest 3K campaign so far for me.

He's fun to play, but can be stressful if you're a player who likes to get into battles frequently and expand quickly, for that I'd either suggest Sima Wei or Sima Yong

I've had a really interesting game where I've managed to win the game with I'm not even sure if there was a manually fought battle, the Imperial Guards seem good for autoresolve purposes. Basically one army was sufficient for most of the game, only late game I got two 2/3 stacks to defend settlements from Jin Empire because my vassals hated me going to piece with them, but when Jin became a vassal... gg.
Lightning Aug 9, 2019 @ 1:23pm
I couldn't get Jin to be a vassal, but I had to give up my vassals to keep friendly with them because otherwise I'd be endlessly defending myself and unable to expand because of those damned endless stacks.

I gave them an ultimatum and they accepted (to become a vassal that is, but I already had alot of +respect and vassals so it was this big snowball, even defiant lords would accept on ultimatum). Like it was the easiest "Very Hard" start position that I've had, hardest one in 3K for me is Huang Shao start because I imagine it's even worse now that towers are weaker, since Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei are scary.

Is this a joke?

You vassalised and allied all of china within 50 turns and won within 60?

That is utterly pathetic. Great achievemtn of yours but what was CA doing???
