Faction Heir Change - Cao Cao Campaign
Hey, is there any reason for me to change my faction heir? I see some item descriptions that say bonuses are applied to my leader and my heir. So can I boot out Cao Pi and get my general up there with actual bonuses?

You can, though Cao Pi has a unique skill which gives -10% corruption as long as he is leader, heir or PM which is very helpful late game.

I am at the beginning of the campaign and Cao Pi is still a baby and he gives me no bonuses. I imagine that later, -10% of corruption will be very useful but until it grows, do it's a good idea to place another character as heir? (and which one? Cao Song his father is dead)

Sure, that's what I did. I've not played this game for months but you can see the hero bonuses (what you will get if you make them heirs) on their tabs, I remember the green guy being good.

There is not a lot a character in this faction that we can promote as heir : Cao Ang (but he gives no bonus before he is 18years - like is brother Cao Pi), Lady Bian (his wife) and Cao Ren (his cousin).

If I choose another character, not from my family, I have to adopt it first, so it's not very interesting if I want to do it only temporarily (bcz it's not free!)
Also, if I choose Lady Bian as heiress for example, and once Cao Pi (or Cao Ang) becomes an adult, I remove her to put one of my sons in her place, she will not be happy and her satisfaction may be very low. !! I could ban her but I lose a character.

My son Cao Ang is now about 14 years old so maybe the best thing to do is to designate him as my heir right now, even though for 4 years I will not get a bonus (better than 14 years with his brother Cao Pi) rather than placing someone temporarily and then firing him, which will make him very unhappy!

And you, who did you put as heir?
