Is Chen Jianbin (plays Cao Cao in 2010 RotTK TV series) a very famous Chinese actor?

I see from Wikipedia he's won a lot of awards, and not just for his performance as Cao Cao, but it's hard to estimate what that amounts to comparatively. Personally I would guess he was very famous because I thought his Cao Cao performance was absolutely stunning. Not to mention those eyes.......

I found that watching the series significantly enhanced my enjoyment of the game. I would advise anybody starting TW:3K to watch it. It's very good and very relevant.

Yu Hewei's Cao Cao in Advisor's Alliance is also pretty popular, more method acting in there, more emotional struggles, less comical than Chen Jianbin's, the actor is less famous outside China, the other fun fact is he's played Lu Su, Liu Bei and Cao Cao in different series over the years.

HBO could do it Donnie yen could play as kong rong or even Cao cao plus him being a martial artist who does his own stunts is a bonus

That's the thing i enjoy about western action movies/comic book movies

The seriousness of them adds a whole new layer of comedy sometimes makes it feel surreal too like with apocalypse now or predator it's become a trope of it's own

i mean I actually enjoyed some of the bay transformers movies due to this aspect.

Plus all those hollywood actors are Chinese descent (Olivia Munn is Half Chinese as is Keanu Reeves).

i doubt HBO can afford him, and donnie had already play (the shortest) guanyu, i doubt kong rong has enough action for him to justify taking the role.

but i am guessing people are thinking "game of throne" type of deal. i just don't see a-list star doing 4 to 5 season show, it is a long time to commit and with their pay grade... i think the best u can get is someone like john cho.

keanu reeves may sign with marvel so he is booked. but reeves does do oddball low budget work if he like it. i glad he did cyberpunk but he is a rarity. :D

John Cho would bring a bit of Comedy to the role, as well as a bit of medicinal green plants :)
