How to trigger Zhao Yun Event
Hi Guys, i hear the new update fix the Zhao Yun event to join Liu Bei Faction. Any info how to trigger that event? Thanks

Seems like it triggered after losing a battle, including minor settlement ones. Not certain though, as in my recent Lui Bei campaign it never did trigger for me and i lost a few things early on the the yellow turbans. Seems like they broke it again.

It's supposed to trigger after a battle - whether you win or lose it is irrelevant - between turns 9 and 28, according to the guy who datamined the code for the event. There was a spectacularly overcomplicated attempt to provide an alternative explanation for how to get Zhao Yun, involving marriages, defeats, deaths, and all sorts of ridiculous things...

...which basically served as an unintentional workaround for the REAL reason he wasn't showing up, which was due to his event being pushed to the back of the "might trigger this turn" queue due to many other events happening.

Even now his event is more miss than hit it seem. I've restarted several Lui Bei campaign trying to trigger it via battles. Now I'm currently just reloading a quick save in the hope that his event will trigger like it did the one other time I got it to in a separate campaign. Honestly it stupid to make his event random as it is, might as well make Zhuge Liang event random too since he was as major of character in Lui Bei story as Zhao Yun was.

Does the event trigger if you are playing with Gongsun Zan?

I don't know but i never seem to get them via reloading a savegame. I think it is already decided what will happen when you start the campaign.

I thought that too, but the first (and only time) I got the event as Lui Bei I had quit the game to look online for any solution to the event. I reloaded a quick save and auto resolved a battle I had previously fought and got him. I had fought that battle and that didn't trigger the event, but I reloaded and auto resolved and got it.

The event is just bad luck.

Nope. And it doesn't happen if there is no player as Liu Bei.
