Children of recruited generals
In my campaign as Dong Zhuo, I managed to recruit Zheng Jiang as a general in my faction (after destroying hers...) and decided to adopt her as a daughter. I noticed that she was already married and since both Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu where also already married I figured it would be fine to do this instead of matching her up to one of them.

But after adopting her and seeing the rest of her family being added to my family tree I found that she had actually been quite productive while still leading her bandit faction and already had 4 children. So far non of them have come of age, but all of them seem to be spread out through lots of different factions. One is with is listed as serving Kong Rong, another The Duchy of Wu (not ruled by a Sun family member anymore), one with Zhang Yan and the last with Yuan Shu.

So what I am wondering is how they all got there? Since they are all still to young to be recruited as generals to any of these factions and Zheng Jiang does't seem to have gone to work for any of them before I hired her. And what will happen when they come of age? will they go in to the faction they are listed under in my family tree or will they come over to me once they come of age?

I've had a few women with kids join my faction and later on the child pops up as one of my nobles. Even had a few give birth the turn after i hired them, no clue who the husband was. My guess is they follow the mother along, but never had one as a family member to check their tree out.

Right I've got to the point where those children are have all come of age and it looks like most of them have instantly died (from "unfortunate circmstances") the moment they turned 18. So now I'm still wondering how the hell they ended up in each of those random factions and why weren't they all just transported to my faction instead once their mother became part of my faction.

I think it's because the AI instantly marries everything off that they can (Something CA needs to fix because it's incredibly rare to actually get married to anyone useful). The A.I. was probably bouncing her around after her faction was destroyed and her husbands kept getting killed, then she'd be completely unsatisfied, and leave the faction. Rinse, repeat.

Rome 2 has that problem as well same with Attila can never marry off anyone because there's never anyone to marry so you have to go look for a random.

Looking at her faction history, it appears she was briefly serving Gongsun Zan for about a year between me destroying her faction and recruiting her to mine and one of the 4 children did seem to end up with him while still a child (but dying instantly once reaching 18). But that doesn't explain how the other 3 ended up within the 3 other factions.

Although I never saw him in the recruitment pool her husband appears to be in the Han faction and I assumed he was the original one she married while still in control of her own faction. The game seems to say he is the father of her all children, but I'm not sure if the tree will just list whoever the current partner is as the farther. And I don't think there is a way to show over a marriage history of a character.

But the other thing that still has me concerned is that it looks like the game seeming just decided to auto kill them. I also noticed that Dong Min's daughter who I had married off to Liu Bei (her joining his faction) as also killed instantly when he got confederated by the Duchy of Song (it literally says her cause of death was "faction ceased to exist".

The one interesting thing that has actually happened though is that Zheng Jiang (now my faction leader...) unexpectedly gave birth to another son even though her husband is still a general in the Han.
