Duels in Records mode

I've been playing on records mode. there are no duels in records mode. yet there are duels recorded in my factions statistics. i also just received an achievement for winning 66 duels. why is this?

Duels sometimes occur in records mode when two officer's units fight each other, though I'm not certain what triggers it and the game doesn't seem to call attention to it, it just lists them in the post-battle screen on the officer's portrait. I suspect getting a bunch of duels in one battle is what has occasionally caused one of my officers to gain several levels at once (has happened to both Xiahou Dun and Wen Chou) as winning duels give pretty good experience.

yeah i saw even though in romance mode, that sometimes the generals engage in duel without the duel request, but not commited to it like the requested duel, ESP when they are on foot.

had Xu Huang duel Zhao Yun when they both were on the city walls on foot without the duel request, even thought they clashed like for 2 min's, i withdrew my Xu Huang(for obvious reasons) to the other side of the wall.

but i saw them do the animation duels during that.

I saw that too. I think it keeps track of when you send a Hero to fight another Hero even in records mode. They consider that a duel? That what I think anyway.
