Sima Yi ability OP?

So I had a MP battle and one of the enemy heroes was Sima Yi. As a result none of my heroes were able to use any of their abilities ever.

Worst of all it was a Town battle so no way to get to him...

This seems pretty broken to me. Just a complete global infinite shutdown of all hero abilities.

Isn't it just the same as every strategist? Only shuts down the abilities of characters inside his zone? I thought his only unique ability was having 50% evasion or something like that.

Nope, the range of his Whitewater ability is infinite. Zhuge Liang has a similar one but with 50meter range.

What confused me is, those +5 seconds are applied over and over. I thought it would just extend the time but instead it completely shuts it down as the timer repeats the countdown.

I remember in previous patch, his ability affected world wide on the battle field, preventing my generals from abilities far away. since then I havent encountered him once. but when I use him, his ability indicated only for a limited zone around him

Sima Yi's special ability is making that abilities range global.

I think you can at least partially counteract it with the strategist ability that reduces your own cooldowns, but yes, Sima Yi's ability is one of the nastier ones in the game.

Its completely broken since all your heroes have a huuuge disadvantage against enemy heroes.

On an open field you could send someone to kill him. But in a town or city battle that isn't possible.

Cao Cao have the ability to decrease all his generals ability cooldowns by 5 secs, and its global.

yeah some ability are nasty, Cao Cao can make some generals unstoppable, combine him with Dian Wei, and you can have like 90% uptime on 100% aoe evasion for your army.

It's the only way to defend against those OP generals abilities in Romance mode. It works great with one Sima Yi and two Xu Chus against three Xu Chus.

I don't think you all understand.

When Sima Yi is anywhere on the field. Be it in the middle of a town or hidden in a forest. NONE of your heroes can use ANY of their abilities EVER.

Thats what I experienced. i am not even sure if this is correct. I was baffled when it happened. The countdown goes: 5 4 3 2 1 5 4 3 2 1 5 3 2 1. It never lets you use them at all.

Did I play against you because that asian had two Xu Chu. It was hilarious my heroes did no damage to them and they totally murdered them.

Just giving it a limited range instead of unlimited would solve it. As it is its so strong its broken.

lol yeah he used a totally overpowered general that I didn't know about. No shame in losing to that.

Sima Yi is the only strategist out there that has unlimited range on that kind of ability.

Hero balance must be trash anyway when all I see is mass of Xu Chu and then one single Sima Yi.

Not as OP as Xu Chu. I won't play ranked multiplayer until they nerf Xu Chu
