recieving&giving marriage in diplomacy?

Does the AI marry off all their eligable people for marriage as soon as they can? i mean i very rarely get to find anyone with a eligable man/woman to marry in the other factions unless its very early in the game, once maybe in a whole game do i once in a while get a proposal, but i never seem to be able to even find any single man/woman in any other faction myself. Just unlucky?

It's early yet. Unlike it was historically, arranged child marriages aren't part of the game. Wait a few years until some of the children grow up.

It's something that needs to be addressed, and has been addressed already by the players. The AI does indeed marry off anyone they can instantly. If you don't marry someone the same turn they become 18, then they will be taken by someone else instantly. There is a major lack of females in the game, play with a female and watch as the proposals come in almost every turn. Essentially what you have to do, is kill their spouse through spying or warfare, then you beat them into submission and take the person you want. Not ideal, but it's a method. Hard part is finding out who they're married to since CA never thinks to put in a family tree for the AI in all their games that have family trees.

What about marrying members of your court? I read it was a good way to get/steal good generals from other factions.

I have females in my court but with no faction I know there is an option to offer or receive marriage.

Yeah the lack of woman makes finding a wife rather difficult.

You can use the seek spouse "exploit", Divorce your wife, seek spouse and continue to divorce/seek spouse till you have all the woman in your faction that you desire. Just know you have to deal with them being unhappy due to being removed from the royal family Via divorce.

Thank you but that's not the thing I meant. A couple of people wrote they marry female members of their court to generals from other factions thus getting those generals into their faction. I simply don't see that option anywhere. Wonder where they did it.

You can just adopt anyone from the candidates section in court, than 'Receive Marriage' to get good characters. For example, in Mandate of Heaven, I'll often do exactly this to get Lu Bu from Ding Yuan before Dong Zhuo ever notices him. So if you ever need women, just adopt them.
