How to get Zhuge Liang?

I'm playing as Liu Bei on legendary and Liu Biao doesn't want to unify with me. If I kill Liu Biao, would I miss out on Zhuge Liang?

I've already destroyed Cao Cao, so I don't know if that's going to prevent my chances of getting him.

There will be 3 quests. Something about "visits" , you get two options; to visit or ignore (not to visit). Each time, just choose the visit option and Zhuge Liang will eventually appear in your court after the 3rd quest or dilemma.

Not sure what will happen if you chose the ignore option or not to visit (cant remember the exact narrative).

You get him around 207. If the chain hasn't started, then it doesn't matter if you have destroyed Cao Cao. It does if you destroy him before xu shu leaves I think.

I don't even have Xu Shu yet :(

Oh believe me, I am trying my best. It's just that this is Total War on legendary - delaying time means giving time for the enemy to build huge armies.

I just gained the ability to vassalize. Liu Biao is going to submit or face destruction after I'm done with the Yuan bros.

Still, I want Zhuge Liang to be my prime minister just as I had Sima Yi (although I would have preferred Xun Yu) as PM for my Cao Cao campaign.

Good news. Xu Shu came in 205. He proposed to find sleeping dragon in 206. Looks like I might not miss out on Zhuge Liang.

On a side note, I've vassalized Yuan Shao, unified Zheng Jiang, and yet, Liu Biao still doesn't want to unite with me.

Gongsun Zan is a much bigger threat to me now since he took a lot of the unoccupied land when Yuan Shao was busy at war with me. Liu Biao will live yet again. At this rate, Huang Zhong would probably die of old age before Liu Biao does :/

Final update. Thanks everyone for your help. I got Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong on the same turn in year 207. Xu Shu is still with me, so destroying Cao Cao early might have been a good thing.

Now, I just need Huang Zhong.
