Yeah, I feel the same way. Jasonafex's track record with these projects hasn't been great, and the timeline alone raises concerns. The BBS Baxter game has been in development for about seven years now, if I'm remembering correctly—basically ever since Amorous was finished. That kind of timeline for a relatively small-scale game is pretty concerning, especially when you think about how Amorous itself was developed. From what I remember, Amorous had its fair share of issues during production—bugs, inconsistent updates, and unclear communication with the community.
It’s hard to look at this new Amorous 2 project and feel like it’s going to be any different, especially with Jasonafex moving onto it before BBS is even close to being polished. It comes across less like a sincere passion project and more like a way to keep people subscribed to his Patreon, promising the next thing while leaving the last project incomplete. I’d love to be proven wrong, but the pattern here makes it hard to hold high expectations.
You raise a valid concern, and I can see why the Amorous 2 teaser might seem worrying. From the visuals in the teaser (like the one you pointed out), it does have the polished but generic look of AI-generated content, which creates uncertainty about the actual gameplay and quality. AI-generated assets can often feel impersonal, inconsistent, or detached from a cohesive artistic direction, which is critical for a game aiming to be immersive and engaging.
Jasonafex's track record gives further reason for caution. Here are some key points to consider:
1. Amorous 1’s Reputation:
- While Amorous was popular in the furry community for its bold concept, it was also riddled with technical issues, bad coding, and design flaws that left many frustrated. Players experienced frequent crashes, buggy interactions, and an overall lack of polish, even years after its release. This inconsistency eroded trust in Jasonafex’s ability to deliver a reliable product.
2. Bare Backstreets (BBS) Development Hell:
- Jasonafex began Bare Backstreets shortly after Amorous but has failed to release a finished game despite nearly 10 years of work. The project has been plagued by delays, missed deadlines, and slow progress, which suggests poor project management and a lack of direction. Many supporters have lost patience, and the decision to cancel BBS entirely feels like a desperate move to save face and pivot to something new.
3. Overpromising and Underdelivering:
- Jasonafex has a history of making grand promises about features and progress, but the results often fail to live up to expectations. For example, the announcement of Amorous 2 is full of flashy promises (e.g., mocap animations, full customization, a robust soundtrack), but with no evidence of substantial progress or a proven ability to deliver, it’s hard to take these claims at face value.
4. Reliance on AI:
- The teaser's heavy reliance on AI-generated art adds to the skepticism. While AI can be a useful tool, overusing it can result in a game that feels generic, lacks a cohesive artistic vision, and fails to resonate with players emotionally. This approach also raises questions about the developer's investment in original, handcrafted assets—especially given the disappointment with the visuals and coding quality of Amorous and BBS.
5. Longstanding Mistrust:
- The furry community’s relationship with Jasonafex has been a rollercoaster. While his projects generate initial excitement, the delays, coding issues, and unfulfilled promises leave many fans feeling burned. Without significant changes in approach or evidence of improved skills and management, it’s hard to trust that Amorous 2 will avoid the same pitfalls.
Your concerns about the teaser being made with AI and not showcasing real gameplay are absolutely valid. Given the track record and the rushed pivot from BBS to Amorous 2, skepticism is warranted. Until Jasonafex proves otherwise with tangible results (like a polished prototype or detailed gameplay footage), it’s reasonable to approach this project with caution.
Dating in this game is mental, like they made it like furry dating on discord and other platforms. I say something nice and get a backwards rep in the story complete garbage.
I think your pretty. I hate you never talk to me again. Like the ♥♥♥♥? I hope they if do another game this time around they at least give the people that wanted male on female dates have more options without the pretending to be something they aren't. Which I may add is fine but I had friends that paid them for that content in their fundraiser, this dev is a crook and should never be trusted.
I am as gay as it gets but I do still care about what my friends wanted out of this game and what they were promised?

going to tag this just in case people don't already know I feel bad for anyone that's giving this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money.
Calling Amorous 2 a scam might be an overstatement, but skepticism is completely justified given Jasonafex’s track record. Bare Backstreets spent nearly a decade in development before being abruptly canceled, and Amorous 1 received little post-release support. If anything, the bigger issue is mismanagement and overpromising, not outright fraud. Until Amorous 2 shows real, tangible progress, people have every reason to be cautious about backing it.
That’s fair—Amorous was known for its adult content. But even if Amorous 2 includes NSFW elements, that alone won’t make it a good game. The first Amorous had issues with writing, dialogue inconsistencies, and a lack of depth in its romance mechanics. If the sequel is going to be worth playing, it needs to improve in more areas than just the visuals.
I get where you’re coming from, and honestly, a lot of what you’re saying about Amorous 1 is valid. The game had a barebones NSFW component, especially compared to some of the better furry adult games out there. For a game that was hyped as a "furry dating sim," the actual adult content felt more like an afterthought than a major feature.
The dialogue system was also a mess—characters reacted randomly, making interactions feel forced and inconsistent. You could say something completely harmless and still get a negative response, which broke immersion and made the game frustrating rather than engaging. If Amorous 2 follows the same pattern, then it’s already doomed to be just as disappointing.
That said, I also want to point out a bigger issue here: the problem isn’t just the game’s content—it’s the way Jasonafex operates as a developer.
1. The Track Record of Overpromising and Underdelivering
Jasonafex has a consistent pattern of starting projects, hyping them up, and then either delaying them indefinitely or outright abandoning them.
- Amorous took four years to finish (2014–2018) and never got meaningful updates after release.
- Bare Backstreets has been in development since 2015, restarted in 2019, and now, after nearly a decade, has been canceled.
- Amorous 2 has supposedly been in development since 2021, but we’re only hearing about it now in 2024, and the only thing we’ve seen is an AI-looking teaser video.
Given this pattern, what are the chances Amorous 2 will be finished properly and not just dragged out for years to milk Patreon money? Based on history, not great.
2. Why Patreon is a Bad Model for Game Development
This is also why I don’t support Patreon-funded games long-term. Patreon encourages developers to take as long as possible because they get paid every month they don’t finish the game. This creates a perverse incentive where the longer they stall, the more money they make.
That’s exactly what happened with Bare Backstreets—it stayed in development for nearly 10 years before getting canceled, after raking in thousands of dollars from backers who got nothing in return.
This is why I only pay for one month on Patreon if I want to test a demo. That way, I at least get something for my money. And in some cases, I’ve even made back what I spent by recording gameplay and uploading it to Youtube. But I would never continuously support a Patreon-funded game unless there’s actual proof of progress.
This is also why Kickstarter is better—because it forces developers to set real goals and deliver. If Amorous 2 had a Kickstarter, I might have considered backing it, but Jasonafex would never do that because he knows he doesn’t have the credibility to convince enough people to fund him upfront.
3. Lack of Promised Features and Misleading Fundraising
You mentioned that your friends backed Amorous expecting more male-on-female romance options, and that’s another huge issue—backers were promised things that were never delivered.
If Jasonafex didn’t deliver on the content people paid for in the past, why should anyone trust him now? The fact that he’s already pivoting to a new project (Amorous 2) before finishing the last one (Bare Backstreets) is a massive red flag.
This is exactly how he operates:
1. Start a new game.
2. Hype it up, promise features, and get people to back it.
3. Delay development for years.
4. Move on to a new project before the last one is finished.
Unless Amorous 2 shows actual progress beyond an AI-looking teaser video, I don’t see any reason to believe this won’t happen again.
4. The Free Fur All and Other Controversies
I see that you linked the WikiFur pages for Free Fur All, Jasonafex, and Kabier, but honestly, those aren’t the strongest points to make here.
- Free Fur All’s controversy (with its alleged ties to the alt-right) is unrelated to Jasonafex’s failure as a game developer. Whether you like him or not, the problem isn’t which conventions he’s attended—it’s that he doesn’t finish the games he starts.
- The Jasonafex WikiFur page mostly reinforces what we already know—he’s a furry artist with a history of failed projects and controversy. The most important part of that page is the fact that *Bare Backstreets* was never finished despite years of Patreon funding.
- The Kabier page doesn’t add much—she left the fandom for a while, then came back. That has no real impact on Amorous 2.
If anything, his track record of abandoned projects is what people should focus on—not his personal drama. The real reason to avoid funding him is because he doesn’t deliver on his promises.
Final Thoughts
You’re absolutely right to warn people against giving Jasonafex more money. Based on his past failures, Amorous 2 is more likely to be another long-winded Patreon cash grab than a completed game.
- Bare Backstreets took nearly a decade and still wasn’t finished.
- Amorous 1 never got proper post-release updates or fixes.
- Amorous 2 has apparently been in development since 2021, but we’ve seen nothing but a vague teaser video.
If he actually wanted to prove that Amorous 2 was going to be finished, he would show real progress, not just hype it up on Patreon.
At this point, unless Jasonafex delivers an actual working demo with meaningful improvements over the first game, I don’t see why anyone should trust him.
No one should be scammed or told, that his money will evantually support a game that may be develope in a decade.
I realy have no idea how much ammount of money (patreon support) he received, but the fact that delaying "the longer the better" shouldn´t be a thing to support.
Given that I am the one who started the project. Still have the old code on my github
I was "hired" by Jason to work on Fellden another cancelled project of this scam artist in January of 2021.
By "hired"
I mean I was working for free for 6 months without pay because he's a cheep ass who doesn't pay people who work for him.
Website was cancelled indefinitely and I began working on Amorous 2 in June of 2021
Over the next 2 years myself and my development team was working on Amorous. I transitioned to work on BBS in September after the previous developer quit. And for the first time in 9 MONTH of labour he offered me the paid position on BBS (because he only pays the devs working on the already released products)
Just like every studio does it right. All the guys working on GTA6 for years have been working for free because the game "doesn't generate revenue (yet)" right?
Sure
He's a terrible project manager who can't even manage the own security of his crappy game studio (I still have access to the GDD YEARS after I quit) because he's too high most of the time to care about running a business.
During the time working on BBS, my developers were fired from Amorous because they took issue with the whole peacewolf situation.
He smuggled psylocibin across the border into OK for the worst furry con in recorded history. And used it to drug rape a woman who he then convinced to divorce her husband and he tired to coorerce their 16 year old daughter to join their drug fueled sex orgy
(She ran away)
During that entire time it was impossible to get feedback on my daily work because he was too busy or too high to care. (2 weeks for responses to work related messages)
Peacewolf then illegally immigrated to my country to live with him as an undocumented migrant/sex slave
And she gave up on her faith and religion which was her whole MO to become his mistress. I eventually left in June of 2023 after he paid me $65 for en entire MONTHS worth of work. And then went on to defame me in a Patreon post because I called this psychopath out on his BS.
I went to go work at a ski resort and a coworker who tried to kill himself 3 weeks later burnt the shared accommodation to the ground nearly causing a wildfire in one of Canada's largest national parks. I lost everything but my cell phone and clothes on my back
Initially Jason was sympathetic and wanted to help,
But then 2 days later (1 day before my birthday btw) he gets into a drug fueled rage against me because I complained about not being paid in my small ass Discord with 60 members. And his ego got 0.1% bruised by that. After all. Who needs a paycheck to live anyways?
And then he told me to go ♥♥♥♥ myself and blocked me just days after my entire house and everything I owned burned to the ground
So if THIS is the guy you want to support then go right ahead I wont stop you
