Amorous pre-release FAQ
Introduction
Hello everyone, I'm Lennian, the main developer of Amorous.

Notice
After letting everyone blow off a little Steam for a while, I'm going to gradually clean up this forum a little bit and will address all issues that I come across, please keep an eye out for this topic.

Since I'm not a fan of censorship and right to free speech is important to me, instead of removing all topics to start clean, I combined all topics (even those previously deleted, by the way) into one of the two following: "Random bantering" or "Concerns" and locked them.

This allows everyone to still peak back into the past and read about what has been said and done. However, I hope that from now on we can keep things classy as I point out a few things from the "Cornerns"-topic in particular.

Before I do, this also brings me to the following...

Rules

Got a question or feel like discussing something? Post it right here in this section!

Regarding the topic of discussions: Everyone should be able to make a good point without deteriorating the discussion as a whole. You can actually convince people of your opinion without swearing, you know? Also keep in mind that all the default Steam Guidelines still apply!

Anyone personally attacking someone else, be it a developer or a regular member, will simply be removed from this discussion board. ~We don't like your kind over here

TL;DR Just be nice to your fellow gamer.

FAQ
Q: *insert random fact about Jasonafex*
That's not really a question, but okay. Let me stress that Jasonafex is not the only person affiliated to this game! This game is developed by Team Amorous, as in, a team of people. If you don't like Jasonafex for whatever reason, that's fine, but keep in mind there are quite a few more people that have put a lot of their time and effort into this game.

Q: So what is Jasonafex's role in all of this? What about the rest?
Jasonafex is for most the producer, as in: He came up with the idea, gathered the people and made some design calls here and there. When it comes to the game itself, he provided all of the NPC animations, because well, that's kind of his thing ain't it?

Besides him, we've had numerous of people as part of the team. This ranges from writers to sound designers to programmers. Kabier (and yes, that is the girlfriend of Jasonafex, thanks for pointing that out) is responsible for all the art in the game.

Q: Why put this on Steam?
Because Steam is a cool platform which opens up a whole plethora of options, for most Achievements, Cloud Saves and a good solid place to host the game we have all worked for so long on. Besides these, the Steamworks API is massive in what it offers and the possibilities are endless (integrated chats, controller support, etc).

Q: Sure, you are probably doing it for the Steam Trading Cards...
Again, not a question, but Steam Trading Cards aren't even available to us at this point due to strict guidelines and has never been part of the reason as to why we want this on Steam.

Our old game launcher was unstable to say the least, on top of the fact we could never keep the download servers running forever. itch.io is cool, but doesn't offer anything besides hosting.

Q: Okay, but how could Steam even allow this, isn't Amorous like very NSFW?
Now that's a good question! Steam is still as strict as ever when it comes to explicit games. So... we stripped it out. Believe it or not, but I actually enjoy working on Amorous and its cheesy nature always pained me in many ways. So for this release, not only did we strip out the explicit parts, but we've also rewritten the dialogue so it still makes sense! The game is now 100% SFW and still just as enjoyable.

Q: Last time I played Amorous...
Let me stop you right there. Amorous has come a long way since you've probably last played Amorous. It has become increasingly more stable of the past few years. Just give it another change.

Q: Hmm, so what about the post-release plan? Can we expect any support?
Yes, you can. Once the Steam version goes live, that means the end of a long development cycle and Jasonafex as a publisher will move on. I however, will stick around and patch things where needed. As said, I've put a lot of time and effort in this game, and want to leave it behind in a state I'm content with. That said though, I'm pretty sure the list of bugs and issues is slimming down every time I work on it.

Q: What to do if I got more questions of utmost importance?
Simply leave a topic in this section and I will find it. If important enough, I'll update the FAQ to reflect it!

Conclusion
Thank you for reading and have a great day!
