An emulation of a PSX iso? Really?
So... this is the "Digital PC version" promised in the Kickstarter campaign. There's not even a way to save properly. Let alone the fact that the framerate is terrible. I guess that's what I get for throwing money to a Kickstarter no questions asked.

I really really wanted this to have an enjoyable user experience, too bad.

The KS was for a NINTENDO 64 Cartridge, this was available to help fund the KS. Play around with the video settings to improve your framerate, and use the save states to save.

Just wondering, why do you need to use save states to save? What kind of save system did the original release of this game have? Why doesn't it work here (am I correct to guess that the emulator doesn't have "virtual memory cards" of any sort?).

Telling your customers "mess around in the emulator and use save-states to save" is pretty awful, Piko. Just release a product that functions like the original would.

Fix your game. If I wanted to play around with settings and use save states, I'll will just rip the game off my disc and run it better on an emulator that actually works. When customers purchase your game, they expect it to work especially for those who are not familiar with emulators. Even when I launched the game, I was expecting a configuration menu to open first or a choice between launching options and launching the game before playing, not take a guess by hitting ESC or right click to access the options which are an absolute joke anyways. Also, the CRT effect looks gross, I can do a better job replicating CRT in Retroarch and I am an amateur & your team are supposed to be professionals.

PSX-Reloaded does support virtual memory cards but older versions required bios to use them. It is possible Piko maybe using an older version of PSX-Reloaded and are not able use bios for legal reasons. Whatever the case maybe, it does not excuse their poor effort in this port job.

I would suggest just spending money on a physical Playstation copy (about $25) and ripping it via Retroarch. Sure it costs a little more but you would not be spending money to support a hack job.

Wow and I was thinking about purchasing, I think I'll just rip my original and save my money.

The PS1 version is not their game, the Nintendo 64 release is. This was a bonus incentive they made available down the line later.

Either way, you can just use EPSXE or DuckStation, since it's emulation.
