Importing 3D models
There are already a decent few un editable objects in the games like the various cockpits and other components. I would love to be able to import OBJ/STL/Any other 3D model format as components like this. I have a huge amount of plane and various components I have modelled in Fusion 360 and Blender. Really the current ingame editor is extremely janky and I would WAY rather work with something even like forms in Fusion 360.

It seems like there is already a way to do this? In the game files, Flyout_Data/StreamingAssets/Mods/Parts but I cant see any way to actually access the OBJ files in here in game or any explanation on how you would do this anywhere online. If anyone knows how this works then that would be amazing and if it doesnt currently work then well why not? Seems like a really good feature considering how Sisyphean the task of making anything in the current editor is.

I am also running into this problem, got a model in .../mods/parts, completely at a loss for how to find it in game.
Let me know if you find a solution?

You can't just drop a model in there, you also need a config file that tells the game what it is and how to import it.

If you go to the Flyout discord you can see documentation for this, and download some examples.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
