Tips for joystick/HOTAS
After having spent 2 out of my first 3 hours owning the game on trying to get my joystick to work, i have found the following:

1. Make sure only one game controller is connected. To check: press Win+R and type joy.cpl in the box, make sure only one device appears in the window.

2. If using HOTAS like Thrustmaster T.16000m with throttle. Try using a software like Thrustmaster T.A.R.G.E.T which creates one virtual controller instead of the two physical. (For the T.16000m + throttle, assign T.16000 JOYX as DX_XROT_AXIS, JOYY as DX_YROT_AXIS and set rudder and throttle to NONE. Set TWCS throttle TRDR as DX_ZROT_AXIS, TTHR as DX_SLIDER_AXIS and the rest to NONE. If using pedals: set TCSRUDDER to DX_ZROT_AXIS. This should also work for other Thrustmaster HOTAS)

The rudder still sticks when returning back to zero quickly. If this happens, move the rudder a little and the rudder will move close to zero. This seems to be caused by the rudder not moving when the input is near zero and the rudder input is returning to zero quicker than the actual rudder.
