No I'm sorry but "brute forcing" or "trial and error" is not fun when learning to play a game it's frustrating. Or at least to me it is.
As for best ever made I'll say nay, it's really damn good though and without a doubt a classic.
Great Game play, easy to learn.
Every soldiers stats actually mean something!

It is easily the best game ever made. Its a shame they watered down the remake.

No base defences
the same old fight each time, (alien spot you move into cover, you shoot they shoot...)
NO control over direction of your forces other than building satelites. its too easy
