Out of elerium, what do I do?
Hi, I've been using advanced crafts in while and now I have run out of Elerium and I don't have any other crafts that doesn't use Elerium, what do I do now? There's some sort of cheat for Elerium?

Cheat for Elerium? Why? You've basically screwed up base management here. The only source of Elerium is the aliens - raid landed UFOs to nab some, though larger downed ones occasionally have a power source or two survive intact. You can also get some from bases if they generate the right rooms on the map.

If you're totally out and can't launch anything, you'll need to buy yourself a new Skyranger.
ok, thanks

And on that note, don't manufacture alien ammo or grenades, loot all of it. The only thing you should be using elerium for other than Avenger fuel is to build craft weaponry (plasma beams, can't beat the efficiency), HWP's flying armor and aforementioned craft. An interceptor armed with a single plasma beam is good enough to take down any craft in the game save the battleship - leave those for the Avenger unless you A: have a bunch of expendable interceptors and B: are really, really desperate.

Base Defence Elerium bug[www.ufopaedia.org]
On DOS versions of UFO Defense, Elerium pods may spawn as items from the base stockpile during a Base Defence bug. Each pod represents 50 units of Elerium and will be normally collected after the mission, same as any other item such as Heavy Lasers or Blaster Bombs. HOWEVER

That's the OLD version. Nobody plays that anymore.
I'm using the DOS version, how much better is the alternative?

OpenXcom is WAY better.

Btw, flying suits need 16 elerium each to build, but no more after that.

Just get a skyranger and whenever a ufo shows up on missions like supply, research harvest abduction or base, send team to indicated region, shadow ufo till it lands and nab it whole. In general, I only shoot down terror ships. All others, shadow till they land. My current game, it is mid-May, and got well over 1k elerium stashed after building the flying suits for my team.

Yes, alien supply ships are a steady source of elerium, very easy to do with a team of awesome psi ops and some hover tanks to spot aliens. Mind Control the aliens you see and make them drop their weapons, move them to the ship doors with the hover tanks watching them then extend them as a line into the UFO and MC all the aliens inside. When you get them all you just bring them back out and execute them or capture them

Or if you got fly suits and blaster launchers, send one bomb to punch ufo roof where cockpit is and follow with a high explosive dropped into hole. Taking out the leaders is fairly likely to make other aliens panic.
