About to start this game for the first time do I need to have the season pass for this game?

The DLC for this game includes:
- weapons (stronger than regular weapons but not completely broken)
- cosmetics (outfits and attachments)
- extra bond episodes for party members (all fully voiced)
- post-game short story (cutscenes only, fully voiced)

The DLC does NOT add any new areas, enemies or bosses. It's up to you if you think it's worth it. Personally I think the DLC outfits are very nice looking and the extra bond episodes help flesh out the characters.

The extra bond episodes are unlocked by giving party members DLC presents (the ones marked with an asterisk). This should be possible mid-late game.

Just don't watch the Karen episode until you clear the game.

Ah okay so I'll get the season pass around mid game then maybe it'll be on sale by then.

You'll know you're there because you'll have party members at max bond level. And yeah... I'd say the stuff is worth it. I'm about 2/3 through my second playthrough and I'm almost at that point again. I've missed the DLC abilities.

If I was you, I'd play through the game 1st and then decide.
