Inventory full

I know this is a very dumb question but here it goes: Iwant to turn in a secondary quest from phase 2, but can't because my inventory is full and I will lose the items if I do. So I sold several things at the store to make space but eep getting the same warning. Help, please!! Ty in advance

You can only carry a certain amount of each item. The item it wants to give you is maxed out, so you need to sell that if you want to receive it.

it might be cosmetic accessory to like new hat... but if you have allready that specific hat, then game automatically discard the same quest reward, no big deal.
small tip : dont craft cosmetic accessories until very late game or wait for new game+ for this reason, if you craft all possible cosmetic before questing you will find out you grinded for like... 5 to 10 cometic item amount wasted time grinding
