Question about NG+

My first playthrough was as Yuito. If I go into NG+ as Kasane, will I still keep my items and Brain Map progression?

If I don't, can I go into yet another NG+ as Yuito? If so, will everything be there again?

You will keep Yuito's progression and all items. You will have to level up Kasane from level 1, but NPC companions should be higher level.

Yes, it will. But you can only start EX new game from a clear save file.

Cool. I was a bit worried because of the whole "two protagonists with converging stories" thing, but that sounds like what I expected. Now, just to be clear: "items" includes weapons, right? Does that mean I also keep Kasane's weapons that I've unlocked with Yuito?

Yeah, I learned that the hard way. Would've been nice if they didn't put that warning in the same place as the "Are you sure you want to overwrite this save?" warning.

Also, again, just to be sure: I can go into a NG+ with Kasane using the clear save file I have now, then use the NG+ clear save file to go into NG++ as Yuito?

Yes, just load your preferred clear save and select Kasane. After you complete her story and if you simply load the clear save, then you will be able to switch between the two characters.

The problem is, that you cannot overwrite the clear file, because you won't be able to start another NG+ run. So it's best to do everything you can on those playthroughs and only after that - play on clear file.

Yes, with different combos and specializations. Kasane prefers attacking at range, while Yuito is all about in-your-face tactics. Of course there are same/similar perks as well.

Right, I forgot they have different attacks. Makes sense they have different combos as well.

Thank you for answering all my questions. I'll just finish up all the quests with Yuito, upgrade all the weapons, then hop onto NG+ with Kasane for her story, then NG++ with Yuito again and finish the simulations.

Oh, here's another question: does challenge progression carry over? More specifically, I'm concerned about the ones to complete the game in a certain amount of time and without using items. I don't want to have to start from scratch just to get those challenges.

It resets, but, obviously, you can't complete the challenge for completing Yuito's story in under 15 hours if you're playing Kasane.

That isn't true at least not for the stuff that matters, bond progress they carry over on Yuitos side, however you have your own on Kansane's side. You won't see your bond completions again until after EX NG+ with both Yuito and Kasane on the same team. You load a completed save file of Both of them after you finish the game on your 2nd run. You can switch over between both characters by talking to them at the hideout. They give you new already completed quests after your 3rd time if you done them all. You keep everything you get from completed stuff is what I'm saying and nothing is lost. I have beat the game like 4 times in 188 hours of total playtime. lol

You need to complete all the bond eps twice, once on Yuito's side and once on Kasane's side to do the EX bond eps in the DLC anyways since Yuito and Kasane have different bond eps! XD Then you see its perma after the 2nd run is completed. So for example if you do EX NG+ on the 3rd run, all your bond eps are done, you can still replay them if you want, but the levels on all bond skills are maxed at level 6, or EX2. XD

The main point is, bond eps carry over progress no matter what, its just not obvious if your playing on the other character, and you can't see both characters bond ep progression until you switch over to one or the other.

That's the thing, "the stuff that matters" isn't the same as "everything". That's why I asked so many times for clarification, because I wanted to be perfectly clear about this.

For example, I left a quest undone to get a material for one of Tsugumi's weapons before going into NG+ with Kasane. Is that quest now gone until I start another playthrough as Yuito? I don't know, because "everything" is a pretty big word and, as you've said, there are exception.

Are there new challenges you can only get during NG+? I don't see any challenges about game completion except the "beat the game" one.

Are any of those intrinsically worth doing besides for bragging rights (I.e. good in game rewards you can't otherwise get)? I don't see any related achievements.

Also, does NG+ reset your knowledge of environmental data spots?
