Just tried it for myself with a DS4 and it didn't work. Sucks, but I got a Xbox One controller so I'm ok until someone makes a mod
You can still use a Ps5 controller no problem, it's just not as immersive. Also I can't find a way to change the controller symbols to the Playstation ones. They default to Xbox symbols.
That only works for wired connections
Yes this "works" but then the DPAD doesnt and X isnt accept, Square is...so the controls dont work
I'm on Windows 10 with a PS5 controller (DualSense).
I fixed it by turning off DS4 and enabling PlayStation Configuration Support in Steam Big Picture mode's Controller settings.
Alternatively go to Properties > Controller Settings > Controller General Settings - which leads to Steam Big Picture Mode.
However, the button style of the Xbox controller will be displayed in the game
