All cutscenes apart from the opening movie and a single short cutscene at the end are rendered in-real-time rather than being pre-rendered movie files, and the manga/comic panel-like cutscenes aren't done using prebaked static images, they're also rendered in-engine so all of the cosmetics on your characters are reflected in the scenes.
In other words, the file size isn't being blown out by huge video files and tons of high resolution image files. Technically speaking, Scarlet Nexus is very impressive.
