Someone could try modding in a total of 12 10 yen coins to try purchasing it, but I doubt it has a purpose atm.
As far as we know, the 120 yen item is a red herring since you can only find 100 yen at the pier. There is no other area that has yen it seems. If someone can data mine the game to see what other content is missed, that would be great. Someone managed to find a sprite sheet for the mini-game Super NASU. There seems to be a way to play as Madotsuki in the game instead of the tapir character, but no one has discovered how yet (the Konami Code was already tried).
After some digging and modifying the game events, I noticed that the other item was not even programed, all that happened to me the first time was my coins disappearing. There is also only one "item" type object in the files linked to the vending machine. Finally, changing the yen value called "coins" in the files, just causes more errors, makes the yen counter go crazy and crashes the game. Nothing to see :/
