what is the floating island above the start?

just noticed that i there is a foating island above the starting points for runs and woundered what it was for

I noticed that last night before bed. I'll be checking for sure tonight but it looks a lot like the 'island' you go to when beating wave 30 and taking the crown instead of the loop

It's where the shopkeeper is hiding. There are different ways to get up there. Like the open brown barrels behind the big board, jump inside one and try to ride it up. Though for me it's iffy if it works or not.

Yeah that's what it alluded to in the patch notes about riding a barrel to find Tony the shopkeeper. It's a real crapshoot to get up there, though. My friend made it about halfway up the other night before his barrel went offcourse, and that was the best try.

nothing happens if you reach it sadly as i managed to by abusing the fact your can quit to lobby in the lobby XD

Just throw a nade at the bowl of crowns, grab minigun or shotgun, and stand ontop of a crown and shoot the crown. you'll fly through the air and can get up there. took like 2 tries lol

Honestly, the most reliable way I've found up there is to grab the double shotguns, find one of the golden crowns on the floor, aim myself towards Tony's island and fire both barrels at the same time.

Either the crown slips out from under you immediately or you get launched to Narnia. Can take some tries, but it's honestly less janky than those barrel rides.

just landed there and its just a big crab with a "hello there" sign from the developer btw easiest way i found was with the auto shotgum and crowns

Tried to build ultra mushroom towers to climb up but there's a weird ceiling that prevents me from getting there

We were talking about that last night, we thought it would be kinda funny if you make it up there and there's a greed totem by the shopkeeper that you can grab before a run, not a choice, forced.

Tony the shopkeep is up there with a christmas hat. Simplest way I found was jumping in the barrels with an open top and meleeing them up to the island
