Rocket launcher meta build
just get a [pattern] shot from the starting totem and dig for more [pattern] shots. once you get 2 or 3 different ones, you'll shoot like 10 rockets per shot fairly consistently.

His meta-build advice is:
Get weapon-mods that grant multiple projectiles.


Yeah - slow weapons have higher chances for mods, and for sniper/rocket having multi-projectiles is rather big bonus early on already.

After reading a post by Dopey Shepard, I gave Arcane wand a new look....had always hated it before. But while multi-projectiles and rocket launcher is indeed powerful (arguably more powerful than sniper, because the explosions all do area damage, so it's easier to reliably get many hits), I tend to choose arcane wand now when the Key totem gives me arc/triple/split/X/square....same explosion-based damage, respectable damage (even moreso, compared to rocket launcher's repeatedly reduced over the updates damage), and much better fire rate, magazine size and reload speed.

significantly better reload/magazine/RoF, in return for slightly reduced damage/AoE size/proc chance? good trade.

Hey I'm glad to have convinced you otherwise. I believe that post was done over a month ago now

Rocket Launcher is indeed not that great. I just can't rely on it when it comes to killing tanky enemies like Elites

Also, in Variety Update 1 Sniper Rifle only had 40 base dmg (Rocket had 30) and had faster rate of fire slightly. Right now Sniper Is much better with that scope and 2.5x base dmg that it used to have before

But Arcane Wand will always be great, I don't even know why. It just is xD

It may have to do with the fact that Arcane Dmg does benefit from all kinds of amplifiers like global dmg boost or even crit chance. It can crit, and it will work great with your Combo Damage perks

Meanwhile, Fire doesn't benefit from anything of the sort and works purely off the amount of stacks you inflict, which also works the same for Arcane dmg on top of aforementioned bonuses

Now imagine if Noisestorm adds Ring of Arcane....

still probably worth it for some builds....but losing poison is sad
