Stuck in the EXEMPLARIS EXCOMVNICATIONIS screen after death

First time I played this game after the latest update. When I died in Mercy Dreams I got stuck in the EXEMPLARIS EXCOMVICATIONIS death screen. It said "Press any button to continue" but nothing happened, no matter how many buttons I pressed.

Edit: Okay, let me correct myself. EVERY time I die, I will be stuck in the "Press any button to continue" screen. :(((

Hi,
thanks for the quick response.

I play with a XboX controller.
No controller input and no keyboard input works on the death screen.

This is the first time I am experiencing this problem and the first time I'm playing since the last update - so I think it might be related to the last update.

Can you try unplugging the controller when this happens to see if you can then continue?

We have passed this to the team in the meantime for investigation, if the issue continues, could you please share your save file with us to [e-mail]?

You can find it here:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\TheGameKitchen\Blasphemous\Savegames
Inside there's a folder with your Steam ID number. Please open the folder and look for files named like savegame_0.save savegame_1.save etc. depending on how many save slots you're using.

unplugging and replugging the controller doesn't work. That was the first thing I tried. :D
