Sword does have lifebar until you kill it for the first time, after that it never come back. I guess first death counts as final so the eye just read sword as a walking corpse.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the game.

Can you please explain a little more about the issue you are having exactly?
Are you going into a new game and having no health bar for the boss?

Once the enemy is defeated there will be no health bar.

It may be helpful to share a screenshot also:

To take a screenshot, please make sure, that you have Steam Overlay enabled in your game

1. Go to Steam -> Settings.
   
2. Click the In-Game tab.
   
3. Check "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game"
   
4. Go to Library.
   
5. Right-click on the game title and select Properties.
   
6. Under the General tab also make sure "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game" is checked.

In the game, press F12 to take a screenshot. Then press Shift+Tab to bring up the Steam overlay, and Upload your screenshot, make it public. Then simply include the URL of your screenshot on the forum (it should look something like "http...sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=...")

Eye of Erudition is a rosary bead that gives every small non-boss enemy an displayed-over-head hp bar, which is very useful when you need to count how many times you need to hit an enemy. Escribar's second form comes with a big sword which needs to be destroyed for Escribar to take damage. Sword is counts as small enemy and have a bar. In course of the fight sword has to be killed multiple times, but bead only displays it's health until you kill it the first time, after that it's not showing anymore despite that sword is alive again.

Sorry, I already finished the game so I can't take screenshot, but it's not a gamebreaking bug or anything.
