Good location for farming tears?

I'm nearing the end of the game but there's some stuff I want to buy/upgrade before I finish the game. I have several items that boost the amount I get from killing enemies. Any recommendations for a good farming spot?

Unless I get to keep all my stuff/upgrades if I start ng+, then I guess I could finish the game then buy/upgrade what's missing after that.

The best place I've found is in the Sleeping Canvases.

Rest in the Prie Dieu, exit to the Library, go back and kill the first Sleepless Tomb, go down and left, kill the Amargura, exit the room and go back, kill the second Sleepless Tomb, go back to the Prie Dieu and repeat.

If your Prie Dieu recovers fervour, you can use Debla of the Lights to kill them very quickly.
With Scaly Coin and Heart of the Holy Purge equipped you can farm 2k tears each run.

Just to give you another option, I think there's a good spot at the Library of the negated words. You won't get as much $ as with previous answer's spot, but this one might take less time/less dangerous? Anyway, not better, just a different option ;)
You can get like 600 per run, but runs are really fast, and prieu dieu is right next to the farming room.

So in Library of the negated words, if you look at the map, there are 2 Prie Dieu, one to the right, and one to the left. You want to go to the one on the left. Rest there, and then just enter the room to the left from it.
There, you'll find a room with poisonous air, 4 Headless Chamberians (exploding skulls version, really easy to get them killed by their own exploding skulls), and at the end of the room if you keep going, a Guardainfante awaits. Rinse and repeat. Fast, clean.

While I can't give a good answer to the original question, I would advice against farming in this game. You do get to keep the sword upgrades, and in one of my runs where I played without exploring much, in NG+ I had A LOT of tears I couldn't even spend. Bosses will give you more than enough in my opinion.

The Alms for the Poor apparently reset to zero after going to NG+. I am at the very end of the game, I have upgraded everything, but I'm 50k short for the fully upgraded Alms. That may be why they need to farm.

I used Rudy and Chuanz methods, and recorded my results. The items I had equipped were Heart of the Holy Purge, Scaly Coin, and the prayer Zambra to the Resplendent Crown. This yields 90% more tears in total.

Rudy's method took me an average of 2:45 minutes per run, and yielded me 4500 tears. Chuanz method took me an average of 30 seconds, and yielded me 937 tears.

In summary, Rudy's method yields about 27 tears per second, and Chuanz method yields about 31 tears per second.

I would also suggest Chuanz method because there is far less chance of you getting killed by enemies or knocked into spike pits for instant death. There is also no swinging blades to avoid or backtracking involved.

Haha nice, good job trying both "methods" and exploiting them with the right beads to get more bling. What a great game this is.

Testing method: 9120 tears in 160 seconds. Did 5 or 6 runs, starting and stopping at same point in the loop sequence. Was warmed up before timing, and runs were pretty good.

You die in this loop, so on respawn:
1) cast prayer, dash right, jump over spikes, pick up corpse (can skip picking up often)
2) run to first golem, dash attack (go through first golem, knock out next 2)
3) run to roughly the grey medium sized painting in the background
4) 3x Bleeding Miracle on stone giant enemy
5) turn around, 1x Bleeding Miracle on the 2 painting enemies
6) run/dash through remaining golems till you die in spikes
7) respawn

There is also another way that I found on youtube which will yield abt 90 tears per second and 640 per run. If done optimally it will take 7 seconds. First you gotta go to the lower right prie deu in arcathedral rooftops and have the scaly coin, Heart of the holy purge and a prayer with a large AOE (I chose debla of lights). Go to the room on the left and if u also chose debla of lights then dash between the flying cages and activate the prayer before they can hit you. (you can also take cante jondo of the three sisters which would be optimal.)
