Is the upward slash cancel thing still possible?

What is the upward slash "cancel thing" supposed to be/mean? The upward slash attack works and can be unlocked on the sword altars but depends on progress and atonement.

I did not find any changes in the last bugs section, on the game's updates. My guess is that, unless it got shadowfixed, it is still a viable technique.

some exploits are just straight cheating, I'm not judging but personally I hate this one.
I was hoping devs will fix it... but...
My friends and I were speed running B-rushes and I come to hate this bug due them batards cheating
but your game experience is none of my business and now after some time in game I believe it should stay but devs should ought to change the achievement unlocking when player uses exploits. It's not fair for those completionists like me.

I hear you. I actually got 100% without using it at all. I could never get it to work tbh, was just curious.
