İstatistiklere Bak:
I've been banging my head against Ten Piedad for a month now and can't beat this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss
I know he's only the second boss but I've died to him like 30 times now after getting literally every upgrade I can find. I really want to like this game but his stupid vines he brings from the floor cant be jumped over and there's too much end lag from parrying and dodging to get out of the way. I don't think i've ever even brought him below half health. I like this game in general and I could beat Hollow Knight with less deaths than the amount I've had to TP

EDIT: I finally beat him after taking a break for a while

30 times in a month? Is that once a day, or..?

no its trying a few times, getting frustrated and rage quitting before coming back a few days later
If you've beaten HK (esp. the additional bosses) Blasphemous should be easily within your abilities. Sounds like you just need to recalibrate your reflexes?

It's been a while since I played HK, but I got Blas in the recent sale and it feels like the difference is that Blas dodge/parry system is chunkier due to that post-defense "lag". There's very little room for error, and learning which defense works for each attack and the timing required is the key (it's much more Souls-y in that respect than HK), also don't get greedy with your attack windows.

FWIW, Ten Piedad probably gave me the most challenge of all the baseline bosses too (that low sweep!) - it's the first real boss, you don't have much in the way of power-ups and you're still learning the mechanics. Stick at it, and you'll be laughing at how easy some of the later baseline bosses are compared to HK's finest. Best of luck.

(no disrespect devs, this is a beautiful and engrossing game, and the optional bosses were pretty tough)

e: also, dodge/running to the side should avoid the vines

Guys, I can't beat Warden of Silent Sorrow, I tried so much, but I cun't prosseed further.
Airman wasn't that bad! (despite the fact I didn't defeat him as well)

Oh, I remember how frustrating Ten Piedad was on my 1st pt and I wanted to do Requiem Eternam too, because I heard it's slightly buggy. You really should master dodge/slide timing... Like the moment he kneels... slide AND jump away from him ASAP. The moment he raises leg for stomp... slide UNDER him and run away for duration of 2-3 brambles growing. Charged brambles - don't even think about comboing him, too risky. He's the most open during spitting seeds though.
is not a hard boss one you get his patherns down, this is not my best performance but you get the idea on what to do:

overall just hit, run and dont get too greedy with the hits, good luck.

If you really know the patterns, it comes down even simpler: just attack and dodge, strife attack if unlocked is also good. I never ever blocked/parried him.
Also, dying 30 times over the course of a MONTH. Boy, if you dont have patience and committment you in the wrong game. Especially the first attempt is a hassle.

I just really like to block his slaps, feels really good lol.
Seems you're just unfamiliar with the game mechanics.
Once you'll get used to him the angry tree guy is very easy.

Here are the thing you need to know:
1 SLIDE - its an incredible useful mechnic use it often in combat. It also gives you a frame of invulnerability that allows you do dash through most enemies to get behind them.
Its especially useful against Ten Piedad because you can get behind him for a free sword combo whenever he lifts his leg for the the stomp attack.

AIR IMPULSE- if you hold the downwards or the dash button while hitting an enemy you will doa small midair jump its extremely useful for staying airborne as long as possible which allows you to avoid lots of attacks

And dont forget equipping rosary beads that increase defense
Man, if someone needs 30 tries for Ten Piedad then maybe this game just isn't for them. It's not going to get better.
Parry his punches when he kneels. Dodge behind him when he raises his leg and do not stay behind his back trying to attack him immediately, cuz vines will be coming out under your feet once you dodge behind him, just keep the distance until the vines vanish and then you can hit him. You have to tell if he's gonna kneel or lift his leg, then you decide what to do next. Boss fights need patience, or precisely, the whole game needs patience, bro.
I havent tried air impulse to avoid attacks, but parry and slide are enough to beat the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tree.
C'mon bro!

Same here.
I read this post before I faced this guy. Had me worried that he'd be tough. Instead, now I'm worried that this game is going to be way easier than I was expecting.

Killed the guy on my 3rd attempt. He's got 4 attacks, and they're very obvious:

Low Slap: Dodging away or blocking this is wasteful. Just stay at max swing distance so you can hit him, and jump straight up over his arm. You can easily avoid this attack while still being able to hit him.

Stomp + Vines: Dodge away from the stomp, then jump back toward him. The vines will miss you, and you can resume the attack almost immediately.

Vine Wave: Dodge away, then dodge back into him as soon as you can.

Vine Spit: Stupid attack, ignore it. Just keep hitting him.

He's only dangerous if you let him back you into a corner, because the timing to dodge past him is awkward--this was my mistake in the 2nd attempt. 1st attempt, of course, was just learning his moves.

When I fought him the 3rd time, he took 3 whole steps away from his starting position before he died. As long as you stay near him, he won't move. The only reason he got 3 steps was because his Vine Wave forced me far enough away from him that he took 1 step after it finished each time.

When the vines come they are too tall to jump over when cornered, so I die every time
