Lantern jumps are cancer
See the title. If you want us to do these, give us a downward slash - one that has a visible animation and accurate hitbox so we're not guessing. In some places, where you have to chain multiple lantern jumps, it's pure luck whether you get it or not.

Including lanterns which only appear in Echoes of Salt (a kinda nothing area) and then making these jumps mandatory in the Miriam DLC rooms is kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Not only that, but having the boldness to set one jump that actually requires spacing a bit so that you don't hit BOTH and drop to the spikes.

Asks to go from zero to hero. Ridiculous.

Yeah I can't count the amount of times I hit both.

It's not hard once you figure out how to do it consistently, I was on the same boat. If you just hold the dash button mid air and while you hit the lamp, it just works. The bad thing is that it doesn't work if you have the hold the dash button but do an upper hit. So the idea is to never touch the up direction and just slash forward in the direction you're moving.

Yup. And the trick is hold the dash, don't dash and x together or one can fail double lantern jumps quite often. But with dash held, it's just timing your jump press, which is easy.

I think the parrying and riposte mechanic that needs a timed double button press certainly had me assuming the same was needed with these lanterns... a mistake that caused many frustrated attempts on those mirror runs :steamfacepalm:
