Does anyone have experience with editing this game's save files?

Someone recently shared a save file where they beat the game without items, since I wanted to do a run where I had to get the items like normal, but had access to the stir of dawn quest and be able to play with the bleeding heart penance. But since you are intended to play NG+ with all your gear, its much slower without any upgrades. Mainly because all enemies have more HP. I recetly edited my save file to increase the damage multiplier to something that felt more reasonable to me personally, but I'm unsure if this effects prayer damage as well, or just mea culpa damage. What I would really prefer is to just somehow make the enemy hp what it is in a normal non NG+ run, but looking through the save file, I cant figure out a way to do so.

Enemy damage isn't stored in the save file. If you need, raise The Penitent One's defence stats.

Enemy health is what I want to modify, damage doesn't really matter with the health orbs anyway.
