Am I stupid? Concering saving the game

EDIT: I literally just looked at the Gameplay Tips and answered my own question lmao. Prie Dieu saves the game.

Does this game save to the save file you choose at the beginning when you rest at a Prie Dieu? Does it autosave? Double checking bc I've made assumptions about save mechanics and lost everything.

As far as I know, the game automatically saves. If you exit and return you will be at the last Prie Dieu you rested at however. For proof, I just went and collected my last bead, exited and returned. I still had the bead and I was back at the Prie Dieu.
