Crisanta used to be quite easy, but they have since buffed her to push you back on some parries making the fight considerably harder. I'd say she's still the hardest boss in the game, more than the Amanecidas or Laudes, since you can abuse Saeta Dolorosa and their big damage windows to heal back up during their fights, but Crisanta has a small damage window and constantly forces you to evade or parry with low downtime to cast or drink bile flasks... I found the Cloistered Ruby bead and Aubade of the Nameless Guardian prayer can dish quite a lot of damage on her. Will probably re-use that strat when I go for the Unwavering Faith penitence run.
@op
Never had problems with Escribar. His first form goes down quite quickly if you are aggressive right from the start. But there used to be a bug to cheese him with Verdiales prayer from off-screen before the fight begins, haven't tried but it probably still works if someone is stuck there. His second form was never much of a issue for me, hit the eye-sword, climb platforms and beat his face, his attacks are quite easy to evade, and you can spam a vertical-type prayer (Debla works, but Taranto or others probably do too) from the ground if the platform pattern doesn't let you climb.
Also a little tip for general bossing that not many people know: you can cast Campanillero right before some boss fights and they will hit the boss during their spawn animation. Works great for things like Tres Angustias if fervour isn't an issue.
incidentally this build also works amazingly in NG+ Unwavering Faith and True Guilt, since prayer power also effects the damage of the Blessed Blood skill (your ranged attack) making both modes a cake walk, and Debula melts bosses. Not sure how well it will perform in Bleeding Heart as that's the last mode I need to finish next though.
it's still will do just fine, you just need to swap all damage ressist bead and sword hearth because it's useless on bleeding heart, this mode will only feel hard in the begining when you only have little hp latter on this mode will feel great, trust me xD by far the most easiest of the three penitence. sugestion again don't upgrade your flask with quicksilver it's useless
edit: the boss and mobs in this mode will only do 1 orb damage to you no matter the moves they use (contact damage, their ultimate atk will still do only 1 orb damage) and all healing move/ items you use will only heal 1 orb damage too, soo use it to your advantage.
