How to take item near lamps at Echoes of Salt?

Hello!

I'm trying to take this item, located at Echoes of Salt.

I suppose I have to access it by hitting the lamps, but I am not able to do it (I hit the lamps and nothing special happens). I remember this "maneuver" from the trailer (and from The Messenger). Do I need some special rosary bead or prayer? I'm not playing NG+ right now.

Attack while holding down in midair - The character keeps airborne for a moment. Use that to drop into the ledge, then pull yourself up. That's what I did.

What Striker said worked for me. It's a little wonky to get it to work. But that's the way to do it.

Im at this point too, but i can´t figure out how to take the item. Any ideas?

Not sure if that's how you are supposed to do it, but the above method works...
Basically from the highest wooden platform you jump while holding A and S while attacking 2nd lantern - this keeps you in the air.

The reward for it is a rosary bead 'Fire Enclosed in Enamel' which accelerates use of prayers, pretty good.

My guess is that they planned for you to only be able to do it with the Big Toe Made of Limestone equipped, since it let's you bounce an extra time on the lamps, but seems like people have been getting it without the Toe without much issue anyways.

When I do that I am so far away from the ledge it is impossible to grab on to it. How do you get from mid air down thrust to the ledge?

The intended way is to use the new heart you get by clearing the dlc, it allows for a speed up after a dodge allowing for longer jumps.

You can access straight away, without the toe or any specific item. Just requires a bit of practice with the sword jumps. Btw, the fourth jump attack the toe provides doesn't give you any extra height, so it really doesn't make a difference.

I've got the jump between the 2 and collected the item. But what about further down echoes of salt down the ladders there is a room with 3 lamps going upwards? how do u do it?
