Ng+ required to access the DLC???
Why just why? I don't want to replay the whole game again just to access the new DLC.

I found the same option too, I think you keep all the items you obtained on the previous game but you start from the first stage, with a higher difficulty level...

The DLC occurs throughout the Story, woven into the main game.

As such there is no 'set-area' where we could place the player to play through the full DLC immediately.

It's certainly worth playing through again in our opinion, the team have added so much to the world both aesthetically and feature wise - even if you've completed the game before it should feel like a fresh and new experience!

Most new players are going to finish the game the first time and be done with it, I think it's pretty hopeful to expect people to do back-to-back playthroughs.

Players who have beaten the game months ago now have to re-learn the game but on a harder difficulty to play a bit of DLC.

I appreciate that it's free but you've incorporated the DLC into the game in such a way that very few people are going to experience it.

Reinstalled the game to check out the DLC, didn't watch any trailers because spoilers, but having now realized that the DLC is NG+ only I don't think I have it in me to do another 15+ hour playthrough. It's a fun game, but I'm not too keen on redoing the whole thing on a higher difficulty just for a few extra bosses.

I like how Hollow Knight did its content updates, you reload your old save and boom here's this new area and that one, and another one. You check them out and move on.

The way you handled this, even new players will be disappointed since the DLC is locked behind a NG+ cycle, so everyone has to replay the game to see it.

I've been waiting for this update to start playing the game so I could get the full experience...

Does it mean I won't be able to play new content on my first playthrough? I'm gonna have to play everything twice in order to access the new area/bosses? :cgpout:

Many of the new NPCs, quality of life features and new mechanics are available in your first playthrough.

The Stir of Dawn Questline is only available in NG+, however.

@Jonno those new NPCs will reset in NG+ so it would be a little boring to finish NG then start NG+ to play the DLC, I wish that NG had included DLC or we can start with NG+ directly.

Some people are ok offering their 100% NG saves so you can ask for it and jump straight to NG+. )So bad i don´t have such 100%)

Maybe it could be a good idea to pin a link to a 100% save for those who want to jump straight yo NG+?

Or as said maybe not a bad idea the option to start NG+ on first run, even if it would be much more challenging.

Just how much ungrateful and whiny you guys can actually be? This dlc was focused on NG+ (as it was highly asked for) and if there was no new bosses on NG+, people would cry that NG+ is boring and pointless, because it's all the same, just enemies hit harder (like in almost all soulsborne games, btw). There are lots of new content on regular game as well. And you, people, should stop assuming, that everyone are normies like you, who eat games like pack of chips, playing (rashing) one game one time and move to another... Free dlc, such a nice work were done, and now this...
I didn't asked for a new game + mode. But nowadays every game has one even if it doesn't fit. So I have to play this game twice (again) to see the new content. A least to me that's totally unnecessary and a waste of my time.

I have to agree with Mad Doc. Putting out a DLC that most people will never play was just a waste of time, in my opinion. Sure, there are the hardcore folks who will play a game more than once. But, the vast majority play games one time, then move on to the next game.

I think it's amazing that the developers put out free content, but I really think they did it in the worst possible way for the very few people who will ever see it.

Yes, access to new content through ng+ bad idea for me...

Please tell me you exchanged the voice acting of Crisanta.

I agree, this is not bad for old players who finished the game but for us new players it sucks to play two times.

That said, i don't want to sound ungrateful, DLC is more then welcome.
Making content for maybe 5% players who are willing enough to play the whole game again, is absolutely absurd to me. There's nothing to be grateful about this dlc. Sounds a little bit harsh but it's true.
