i cannot unlock anything at the mea culpa shrine

no matter what i do i can't unlock it, someone told me to hold and i did that but it didn't work, what do i do?? if it helps my attack button is B

Yellow nodes = obtained abilities.
Blues nodes = can be obtained with ingame currency. Select required node and hold attack button.
Grey nodes = can not be obtained. Need to increase Mea Culpa level by finding more Mea Culpa shrines in the world.

There are 7 shrines, each shrine opens new abilities you can purchase. Even if you grind 100 000 ToA, you can't max out the sword unless you find all shrines.

Ahh.. I see. Yes, that was awkward. Not sure why the letter K is used, the menus are definitely awkwardly programmed. What's wrong with ENTER or just jump/attack button to confirm.
