Controller or a Mouse & Keyboard for Blasphemous?

I'm asking because I've never played a metroidvania on PC.

I would recommend a controller. The mouse and keyboard controls are horrible...

You can't use a mouse in Blasphemous, so it's Controller or Keyboard.

As a WASD fan, I say absolutely the keyboard (then again, I refuse to play any game with a controller because it feels unnatural and idiotic compared to a keyboard). There's nothing wrong with it despite what the others say. I was such a metroidvania noob that I died ~8 times to the tutorial boss - a few weeks later I got so good that I got 100% achievements in the game, including killing all bosses without health potions.

So yea, if you have an affinity to the genre, then you can play well no matter what input device you're using.

just change the k and j letters to the mouse and its all good

I certainly do, Lmb Attack, Rmb Dodge, Wheel Jump. Then WASD and nearby keys for the rest.

Yeah, my wording wasn't clear. You can assign functions to mouse buttons but there is no visible cursor. Anyways, the default keyboard setup worked fine for me.

Why would anyone play an action game on a controller? You're just doing yourself a disservice and making the experience worse.
