Hope this helps.
So you want to be playing this game at it's native resolution, which is 640x360 (640x480 if you're letting the game letterbox), or some multiple thereof, like 1280x720 (1280x960 with the letterbox).
Now, if the game actually can crop the sides with these registry hacks and still be playable, giving you a 480x360 native resolution, then you can run your CRT at 480x360@120hz, or 960x720@60hz or 120hz, etc.
This has nothing to do with that. Actually I tried running it at 4:3 on multiple displays and not just CRTs and got the same result: black screen.
I was responding to the other guy, Pacco. Forgot I was on Steam forums and that's not always clear.
Didn't know that. Wonder if they only meant 16:9 and wider. Because the only 16:9-designed game I know of that also supports 4:3 proper is Sonic Mania, since the camera pans with Sonic as he moves around the level.
